Plot Summary
Jude (Karen LeBlanc) is a Jamaican-Canadian nurse and single mom struggling with health issues while trying to raise her son, Ciel (Daniel J. Gordon). Ciel is a dreamy 12 year old boy who loves music, magic and of course, his mother. Silence (Clark Johnson) is a middle-aged boxer who comes into their lives when he lands in Jude’s hospital with an injury sustained during an illegal fight. Down on his luck but trying to turn his life around, Silence is lost until he meets Jude. As Jude’s illness becomes more serious, Ciel starts learning to trust Silence, a new source of strength in their small and tight knit family.

Charles Officer
Actor, writer and filmmaker Charles Officer’s first feature is Nurse.Fighter.Boy, which won the audience award for Best in World Cinema at the Toronto International Film Festival and a jury prize at the Sarasota Film Festival. He has acted in films and television, and directed the short films When Morning Comes, Silent Hymn Silent War and Pop Song, as well as the TV series Da Kink in My Hair. He has also played hockey professionally in the U.K. Charles’ next film is a feature documentary on Olympian Harry Jerome.
