Plot Summary
A Canadian comedy classic, Strange Brew follows lovable hosers Bob and Doug Mackenzie on an epic adventure filled with beer, donuts and hockey (not necessarily in that order). When her father dies suddenly, Pam is orphaned, and control of the Elsinore family's brewery threatens to fall in the hands of the suspicious Brewmeister Smith. In stumble Bob and Doug, who land jobs as beer inspectors when their scheme involving a mouse in a bottle catches the eye of the brewery brass. Hilarity ensues as the boys attempt to foil the Brewmeister's sinister plot to take over the world. Though a deceptively clever farce based on William Shakespeare's Hamlet. Long before Wayne and Garth or Beavis and butthead, there was Bob and Doug. Canada is proud to call them our own.
About The Director
Dave Thomas
With their work in the Emmy Award-winning SCTV television series, Moranis and Thomas earned their place among the very greatest commedians this country has ever produced. From their beginnings at Second City theatre to big-screen appearances in such films as Ghost-busters and The Coneheads, their careers are to extensive to outline here. In 1995, they shared with their SCTV colleagues the prestigious Earle Grey Award for lifetime achievement.
