Plot Summary
A box-office blockbuster in Quebec last summer, and the winner of a whopping 11 Genies, C.R.A.Z.Y. is an infectious and impossibly entertaining coming-of-age drama. When Zac Beaulieu (Marc-André Grondin, in a star-making performance) is born on December 25, 1960, it becomes clear that he is different from his four brothers. He vies desperately for attention and acceptance from both of his parents, but in particular, his loving and old-fashioned father, Gervais (legendary Quebec actor Michel Côté). The film follows Zac and his family over the next 30 years, as life takes him on an epic journey to come to grips with his own identity. Soaked with pop culture references - including a vibrant soundtrack, which guides and advances the narrative brilliantly - C.R.A.Z.Y. boasts countless moments of true movie magic. It is at once a poignant and personal auteur film and a populist crowd-pleaser. "C.R.A.Z.Y." is one of the most thrilling high-wire acts in recent Canadian cinema." - Adam Nayman, Eye Weekly
